HAPPY 20TH BIRTHDAY TO OUR WONDERFUL DANCE SCHOOL, ZEOT ZÜRICH!

What a gift! To step into the limelight, whether here on stage tonight or in your everyday life - and to enjoy being you. What a gift to accept yourself exactly as you are. To celebrate who you are with every step you take (or with every step you dance).
Countless women have danced with us at ZeoT over the last 20 years and many have told me how dancing has transformed them. Maybe they’ve learned to love their curves, improved their body image and self-confidence or got stronger and fitter. What unites them all, is that they transformed into bigger and bolder versions of themselves. They didn’t need to look outside of themselves, just shine a light on who was inside all along.
When you enjoy being yourself, you can also enjoy and encourage others. It gives me so much pleasure to see friendships blossom at ZeoT and experience the support and generosity of our dance community.
I especially want to take this opportunity to thank everyone who kept on dancing and kept ZeoT alive during the difficulties and restrictions of the last 2 years. Thank you to the students who danced online using an umbrella or a mop instead of a cane, a tea towel instead of a veil, and squashed between a table and a sofa instead of in our spacious studio. And of course, a big thank you to the teachers for learning the ins and outs of zoom and online teaching in record time!
We have new challenges to face as we now need to find and finance a new location. I’m confident that as a community we will create a beautiful new home where we can nurture the next generation of dancers who will learn to revel in being themselves.
Celebrating 20 years of ZeoT, I’d like to thank Miriam Missura Marzetta for the chance she gave me to continue to help ZeoT grow and develop and to give more dancers the chance to shine.
And I thank her on behalf of all the women past and present who have found a home, not only in ZeoT but also in themselves.
