Dancing offers valuable leverage over the ageing process as it can increase muscle strength, enhance bone health and improve flexibility and balance. Unfortunately as we age, collagen decline has serious consequences for dancers: skeletal muscle fibres decrease in mass, tolerance for exercise decreases and there are higher rates of fatigue and an impaired ability to recover from injuries. The good news is that we can boost our collagen stores naturally.
