SUMMER WORKSHOPS & NEW EXHIBITION AT ZEOT ZÜRICH

Join us in August for our summer workshop week and try your hand at veil fan dance, American Tribal Style or learn a choreography to Madonna’s “Frozen”!

Regular classes take a break during the summer workshop week until the 26.08. when we'll begin course period 5 studying the art of Raqs Sharqi or classical oriental dance.

Other upcoming highlights include the fusion workshop series with Rachida Aharrat and Salima combining flamenco, oriental and contemporary dance. More classical dance can be seen in the stunning photographs of Marine du Sordet, our new exhibition from the end of September.

If you’re interested in our teacher training programme make sure to apply soon. We only have 3 places left for the course starting this year in September 2019.

FlamenContempOriental WORKSHOP SERIES

contemporary flamenco zürich

You love oriental dance and you’re curious how you could fuse it in an organic way with other dance styles? Get ready for FlamenContempOriental!

Rachida Aharrat and Salima developed the idea 3 years ago seeking something different. Their common point was oriental dance and each one of them added her specialty: Rachida has a strong background in contemporary dance, Salima in flamenco.

Spend a full  weekend immersed in this special dance training, open your mind and discover new ideas about how to enrich your dance with new elements.

FlamenContempOriental - RACHIDA AHARRAT & SALIMA
WORKSHOP WEEKEND INTENSIVE // 6TH - 8TH SEPTEMBER 2019

PASSIO - MARINE DU SORDET

"Passio" is a Latin term commonly used to refer to passion and intense love but originally to designate suffering. As French photographer Marine du Sordet progressed on her project dedicated to dancers, it became clear to her that most of them, driven by an unconditional love of their art, did not hide the part of suffering - both physical and psychological - inherent to its practice. Her work intends to reveal this duality between appearance and reality.

Exhibition at ZeoT Zürich from September 28 to December 21, 2019

BELLY DANCE TEACHER FURTHER EDUCATION!

belly dance teacher training zurich

The learning-by-teaching effect has been demonstrated in many studies. Students who spend time teaching what they’ve learned go on to show better understanding and knowledge retention than students who simply spend the same time re-studying. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Our teacher training further education is valuable for you not only in becoming a teacher but as a dancer too! As you help your students progress you’ll also be consolidating your own knowledge and improving your own technique. Win win for all!⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
We even have some applications from students who don’t want to go on and teach but know that through going through the process of learning how to teach, they’ll deepen their own knowledge & improve their technique in ways they might not experience in a regular class.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
ZeoT's Further Education for belly dance teachers will fill your teaching toolbox and give you a clear structure which you can use to teach oriental dance. Different ways of correcting posture, how to create choreography for the class or semester planning are on the program as well as valuable inputs from experts from Body Conditioning, Yoga, Franklin method, ballet and humour training. The course involves ‘live’ teaching experience in an introductory course and begins in September 2019.

Further information and requirements for application to join the course can be found here.
