Celebrating 10 Years Since Taking Over the ZeoT ...

2025 marks a major milestone for me and our dance studio: 10 years of movement, joy, and connection! When I took over the studio a decade ago, it was already a thriving space for dancers. My vision was to honour its success while bringing a fresh perspective—infusing more art, strengthening the sense of community, and expanding our offerings. The journey has been transformative in ways I could never have imagined.

Throughout this year, I want to take you behind the scenes of our 10-year story. We’ll reflect on where it all began, celebrate the incredible community we’ve built, and share some fun surprises along the way.

Tips for belly dance with a veil

One of our favourite accessories to dance with is the veil, the theme of our A and A/M choreographies in our next course period (KP2) starting March 4th 2024. Veils can be used to frame movements or become an extension of the dancer’s body. Dynamic, dramatic or dreamy, the movement fills the space around the dancer in colour and shape, as the veil adds a new dimension to the performance.

DANCE TO THE RHYTHM!

Join us this summer in KP4 for our rhythm special! Learn combinations and technique to different arabic rhythms and don’t forget to benefit from our special summer abo promotion (more info below).

Learning arabic rhythms can really help to improve your dancing! Not only will you be able to hear and follow the beat, helping you to keep in time, you will also start to recognise what style of dance fits to the music and find improvising so much easier!

Get an overview of courses in our KP4 timetable and find the right level for you here. Still not sure? Don't hesitate to contact us for help! Away on holiday during Kp4? No problem since there's no choreo to learn in KP4 it's easy to catch up any classes missed whilst sunning yourself on the beach!

We also have some great workshops coming up! Bollywood with Stuti Aga, Oriental Tango technique with Lya Elcagu and our special summer workshop week with the ZeoT Zürich team.  

It's been an action packed year for us so far with our participation in Zürich Tanzt festival, the Iranian Film Festival and of course the ZeoT Showcase & CHROMA performance on the 9th June. We'd like to thank everyone who took part, especially the over 70 dance students who worked so hard to make this event a great success. We're already looking forward to next year's show and hoping that even more of you will take part. Save the date: Saturday June 22nd 2019!

Coinciding with the performance project CHROMA, which will be premiered in the second half of the ZeoT show in June 2018, we're very excited to present an exhibition of the colourful paintings and photos of Sarah Zahno in the ZeoT dance studio. (27.04. - 21.07.18)

Passend zu unserem CHROMA Projekt haben wir Personen eingeladen, zum Thema Farben einen Gastbeitrag auf unserem Blog zu schreiben. Farben sind Joana Guengerichs Werkzeug. In ihrem Blogbeitrag erzählt sie über die heilende Wirkung von Farben und gibt uns 3 Tipps, wie wir die Kraft der Farbe im Alltag nutzen können. ZEOT ZÜRICH - LICHT, MUSIK, ACTION!

Bist Du bereit, ins Rampenlicht zu treten? Vom Studio bis zur Bühne kann für viele ein großer Schritt sein, den wir in unserer Tanzschule aktiv fördern und unterstützen. Unsere Schülerinnen erwartet ein tolles Erlebnis, wenn sie an unseren Shows im Theater oder Studio teilnehmen und ihre Freude am Tanz mit einem größeren Publikum teilen.

Die jährliche ZeoT Show findet dieses Jahr am 9. Juni in der Aula Rämibühl statt. Es mag noch weit entfernt erscheinen, aber bei uns sind die Vorbereitungen bereits in vollem Gange. Tänze müssen choreographiert und geprobt, Kostüme angepasst und das Selbstvertrauen aufgebaut werden! Wir würden uns freuen, wenn Du zu unserer Show kommst und die Tänzerinnen bei ihren Auftritten unterstützt. Tickets sind ab sofort erhältlich!

Passend zum Performance-Projekt CHROMA rund ums Thema Farben, das in der zweiten Hälfte der ZeoT Show Premiere feiert, freuen wir uns sehr, eine Ausstellung der farbenfrohen Gemälde von Sarah Zahno im Studio zu präsentieren. Ihr Hintergrund als Tänzerin zeigt sich in der Bewegung und Dynamik der Bilder. Du bist herzlich zur Vernissage am Freitag, den 28. April eingeladen, und kannst dort die Künstlerin persönlich kennenlernen.

Zusätzlich zu unseren regulären Kursen in Kursperiode 2, die im März beginnen und in denen wir uns auf das Tanzen mit Accessoires konzentrieren werden, haben wir auch einige neue kostenlose Probestunden und Workshops in Vorbereitung. Mehr dazu erfährst Du im folgenden Newsletter!

ZEOT ZÜRICH - LIGHTS, MUSIC, ACTION!

Are you ready to step into the limelight? From the studio to the stage can be a big step for many, but one that we actively encourage and support. Students dancing with us gain a tremendous sense of achievement as they take part in our shows and share their joy of dance with a wider audience.

The annual ZeoT show will take place this year on the 9th June in Aula Rämibuhl. It may seem a long way off but for us, preparations have already been underway for some time. Dances need to be choreographed and rehearsed, costumes fitted and confidence boosted! Tickets are already on sale - get yours now!

Her background as a dancer is evident in the movement and fluidity of the paintings. Come to the Vernissage on Friday 28th April to meet the artist in person.

In addition to our regular classes in KP2 starting in March, where we'll focus on dancing with accessories, we also have some great new free trial classes and workshops coming up. WILLKOMMEN ZU EINEM NEUEN JAHR DES TANZES IM ZEOT ZÜRICH

Willkommen zu einem neuen Jahr des Tanzes im ZeoT Zürich. Neue Kurse, neue Workshops, neue Freunde und sogar ein neu renoviertes Bad! Wir hoffen, das neue Design gefällt Dir!

In der ersten Jahreshälfte werden reichlich Farben durchs ZeoT fliessen. Das auf Farben basierte CHROMA Performance Projekt in der ZeoT Show (die Anmeldefrist wurde für einzelne Workshops verlängert) und die malerischen Farbtöne, welche die Wände des Tanzstudios mit unserer neuen Ausstellung im März 2018 schmücken werden, begibst Du Dich auf eine Reise mit uns in die Welt der Farben, die sich durch Bewegung, Form und Zeit manifestiert.

Viele Schülerinnen haben durch die Empfehlung ihrer Freundinnen den Weg in die ZeoT Tanzgemeinschaft gefunden. Lies in unserem Blog eine schöne Geschichte von zwei Tanzfreundinnen, und nutze auch Du unser spezielles 15% ‚bring a friend‘ Angebot, indem Du unsere Kurse Deiner Freundin empfiehlst.

Und wenn Du schon genug Vorsätze und Pläne für das neue Jahr gemacht hast, und Du Dich beim Tanzen lieber an das Altbewährte halten möchtest, schau in den KP1 Stundenplan und finde Deine Lieblingskurse. Es muss nicht immer neu sein, um Spass zu machen!

WELCOME TO A NEW YEAR OF DANCE AT ZEOT ZÜRICH

Welcome to a new year of dance at ZeoT Zürich. New courses, new workshops, new friends and even a new bathroom! We hope you like the colour scheme!

Colours will be flowing through ZeoT during the first half of 2018 as we prepare for our CHROMA performance project and ZeoT show (the deadline has been extended for some of the workshops) and look out for more painterly hues gracing the walls with our new exhibition set for March 2018.

Many students have found their way to the ZeoT dance community through their friends’ recommendation. Read a real life tale of dancing buddies in our blog and take advantage of our special 15% ‘’bring a friend offer’’ by recommending our courses to your friends!

And if you’ve made enough new year’s resolutions and new plans for this year already and you prefer to stick with the tried and tested, check out the KP1 timetable for your favourite classes. It doesn’t always have to be new to be fun!
